What is Ultimate Frisbee?
Ultimate is a fast-paced, non-contact team sport played with a flying disc. Combining elements of soccer, football, and basketball, players work together to pass the disc up the field and score in the opposing end zone. Known for its emphasis on “Spirit of the Game,” Ultimate values sportsmanship, fair play, and respect as much as competition.
Who are we?
Golden Triangle Ultimate was founded in 2024 as an open club team, by current Board President Dawson Archer. Born from a passion to expand competitive opportunities in Mississippi, GTU was created to give players the chance to compete at higher levels of Ultimate while building a stronger community around the sport.
In 2025 Golden Triangle Ultimate grew into a fully-fledged Disc Organization, offering Summer and Winter Leagues, Youth Camps, and, most notably, hosting Tournaments. By becoming an official, affiliated partner with Lowndes County Recreation, GTU continues to grow and thrive. Through our collaborations with local teams and pickup groups, we have grown, and will continue to grow, Mississippi Ultimate to new heights.
